PRINCIPALS' LEADERSHIP STYLES AND TEACHERS' JOB PERFORMANCE IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN JOS SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF PLATEAU STATE, NIGERIA

Abstract

The Study Investigated The Principal Leadership Styles And Teachers' Job Performance In Senior Secondary Schools In Jos South Local Government Area Of Plateau State, Nigeria. Samples Of Two Hundred (200) Respondents Were Selected Using The Random Sampling. Structured Questionnaires Were Also Used As The Main Instrument For Data Collection. The Design Employed In The Study Was Cross Sectional Survey. Frequency Count And Simple Percentage Were Adopted For Data Analysis. From The Findings, The Study Confirmed That Teachers Job Performance Are Ineffective Due To Numerous Identified Challenges Among Which Are; Principals Dictates All
 Work That Is Needed To Be Done And How It Should Be Done, Adopts One Way Communication, Problems Are Solved Without Teachers' Involvement, No Freedom Of Decision Making Among Others. Therefore, Recommendations Were Also Made As A Ways Of Finding Solutions To The Identified Challenges.
