Abstract
Language education plays a pivotal role in fostering linguistic diversity, social inclusion, and
sustainable development in diverse societies. This paper examines resolving human development
issues through language education in Nigeria. Language education is a powerful catalyst for
addressing a wide range of societal challenges and promoting inclusive and sustainable
development. The diversity of languages in any society should be valued and preserved as it reflects
the richness of cultural heritage and collective identity. By recognizing the importance of linguistic
diversity and integrating language education into various aspects of society, we can overcome
barriers to social inclusion, economic development, and cultural preservation. Through language
education, we can unlock the full potential of individuals, empower marginalized groups, and
promote social cohesion to resolve human development issues in Nigeria. However, the challenges
and obstacles in language education are significant but surmountable. Adequate investment in
language education, allocation of resources, and training of qualified teachers can enhance the
effectiveness of language education programmes. It is essential to adopt inclusive language policies
that acknowledge and respect the rights of linguistic minorities and marginalized communities.
Additionally, embracing technology can expand access to language education and promote
multilingualism in the digital era. It was recommended that governments should develop and
implement inclusive language policiesthatrecognize and support linguistic diversity. These policies
should ensure equitable access to education and public services in diverse languages, particularly
forlinguistic minorities and indigenous communities
