Abstract
The study investigated information literacy skills profile of private secondary school students in
Delta State, Nigeria. The study was guided by seven research questions drawn from the steps of
information literacy outlined in the Big6 Information Literacy model developed by Mike Eisenberg
and Bob Berkowitz. The study employed the descriptive survey design. The study population is 895
Senior Secondary Students from 6 private secondary schools in the Warri for the 2020/2021
academic year in Delta State. The sample size is 264 using the random sampling technique. Simple
percentage, frequency, Mean (X) and Standard Deviation were used to answer the research questions
setting the criterion mean point at 3.00. Among other findings, the study revealed that students in
private secondaryschoolsin Delta State can be said to possess a high information literacy profile.
