This article exploresthe intersection of ethical education, service-learning, and the interplay of meaning, community, and responsibility as pedagogical approaches to religious education. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, fostering ethical awareness and responsible citizenship is imperative. Service-learning, as a pedagogical method, has
gained prominence for its potential to cultivate ethical values, engage studentsin meaningful experiences, and strengthen communities. This study is significant because it provides an innovative and integrative pedagogical approach that will be useful in teaching religious education in the institutions of higher learning. The methodology in this article is a conceptual analysis.This article examines the integration of theoretical foundations, practical applications, and outcomes of service-learning into religious education. This is done via, emphasizing the role of meaning-making and community engagement in nurturing responsible religious educators and promoting social change. Based on these findings, these recommendations are proffered. The application of ethical learning should be prioritised in every aspect of teaching and learning for religion educators. The vocational aspect of teaching should clearly be stated and applied so that the religion educators would be aware of their responsibilities to the community. Fostering these approaches into Christian religious pedagogical endeavours would go a long way to create meaningful teaching and learning for teachers, learners, and better community development.
