Abstract

The paper investigated the effect of Knowledge Sharing and Academic Staff Performance in Umarsuleiman College of Education Gashua, Yobe State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design through the use of a questionnaire. The population of the study comprised all the academic staff of the Umarsuleiman College of Education Gashua,, Yobe State.The sample of the study comprised 135 academic staff of Uscoega. A descriptive survey research
design was used for the study. 135 copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean and standard deviation were used to analyse the research questions while inferential statistics such as a regression model was used to depict the connection between the various variables. The study discovered that knowledge sharing significantly affected the performance of academic staff in Umarsuleiman College of
Education Gashua, Yobe State. The study also revealed that knowledge sharing had positive significant effect on performance of academic staff. The paper recommended among others that;Institutions' management should create massive campaigns on the need for academic staff to embrace knowledge sharing for effective staff performance. This can be done through training,conferences, and seminars on the need for knowledge sharing.
