Abstract
Nigerians have been knocked down by several challenges ranging from failed government and
corruption to kidnapping, ethno-religious killings, banditry, Boko-haram terrorism and the likes.
Our successes in life are determined by our abilities to overcome certain difficulties and maintain a
balanced peaceful perspective on life. This chapter discusses psychology and human security and the
strategy to develop capacity and resilience for peace-building in Nigeria. It concludes that positive
emotions help an individual to stay optimistic and approach the challenges of life with cheerful, and
solution focused approach.
