Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written in English Language and typed in 12-point font size using Times New Roman in 1.5 line spacing on A4 paper. A margin of 25 mm should be left at the sides. The manuscripts should be between 12 and 20 pages for Full Length Research Papers, 20 and 30 Pages for Review Papers, and not more than 5 pages for Short Communications/Technical Notes, all including illustrations (figures and tables) for normal submissions. Manuscripts extending beyond the set paper length will be processed at a specified extra cost per page. The text should be in single-column format.  Manuscripts should contain the following sections: Title Page (only the article's title, author’s names, affiliations, emails with corresponding author indicated and 300 words abstract with 5-6 keywords), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References, Author Contributions, Acknowledgement(s), AI Disclosure, Suggestion of Reviewers (Names, email, phone numbers and justification of 3 reviewers). Further details on these are provided as follows:

  • Title Page

The Title Page should contain only the article's title, author’s names, and contact details such as institutional affiliations, e-mail addresses of all the authors indicating that of the corresponding author and phone number(s). The page should also contain the abstract of the article. The authors’ name should be surname first, First name and middle name (if any).

·       Abstract

The abstract should provide a brief summary of the research, usually not more than 300 words. It should concisely highlight the following; study problem, methods, results, and the findings. No need for citation of previous works in abstracts. Authors are expected to pay attention to this word limit and include 5 to 6 keywords separated by comma.

     I. INTRODUCTION

This should include the background to the study, a brief review of literature and clearly-stated objectives. The last paragraph should highlight the contributions of the work and structure of the rest of the paper.

II. MATERIALS AND METHODS/METHODOLOGY/EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE

This section should describe the study area, list and describe the apparatus and equipment setup, work materials, design, experimental methods, as applicable.

A. Sub-section One

The heading of a sub-section should be in title case letters as illustrated here. In other words, the first letter of an important word must be in upper case letter.

  • B. Sub-section Two

The introductory statements should be in the normal 12-point font size. A sub-section may have sub sub-section which are illustrated below in 1) and 2).

  • 1) Sub sub-section One

A sub sub-section heading should have a sentence case in which case it is only the first letter of the heading that would be in upper case letter. Others will be in lower case letters.

  • 2) Sub sub-section Two

Same as 1) above.

        III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Presentation of results may be descriptive, tabular or graphical. Information presented in tables should not be repeated as figures. Discussion should be focused on the interpretation of experimental findings. This may be broken down into different sub-sections and sub subsections as discussed in Section III above.

  • A. Tables and Figures

Tables and Figures should be placed as close as possible to the first place of reference in the text. Tables should be formatted according to the APA style (no vertical lines). References should be made to all the tables and figures and each must be discussed in the manuscript. Authors are enjoined to submit very high-quality figures. Editable charts must be provided while “copy and paste” figures must be avoided as much as possible.

It should be noted that good-quality articles can be denied publication in IJETD on account of poor-quality figures and tables

  • B. Equations, Symbols, Abbreviations and SI Units
  • All mathematical or chemical equations are considered as text and should be typed using Microsoft Equation Editor. These equations should be numbered sequentially, referenced, and discussed in the text. Equation numbers should be enclosed in parentheses and aligned towards the text's right-hand margin. If detailed derivation is needed, it should be placed in an appendix. Each equation should appear on its own line and be indented from the left margin of the text. Where they are first mentioned in the manuscript, symbols and abbreviations should be defined. SI units should be used except in situations where measurements are in other units.

       IV. CONCLUSION

The conclusion should indicate a brief summary of the findings. It should clearly state the contributions, relevance of the findings, and recommendations, as appropriate. It should be reported in the past tense.

  • AUTHOR CONTRIBUTIONS

Authors are required to submit an author statement outlining individual contributions to the paper using the following roles: conceptualization, Data curation, Formal analysis, Funding acquisition, Investigation, Methodology, Project administration, Resources, Software, Supervision, Validation, Visualization, Writing—original draft; writing—review and editing.

For example, R. E. Daffi conceptualized the study, designed the methodology, conducted the initial analysis, wrote the first draft and partook in review/editing of the final manuscript. M. I. Alfa supervised the experimental process, wrote the final draft of the manuscript and partook in the review/editing of the final manuscript. T. I. Ojonimi partook in the final draft and headed the review and editing of the final manuscript.

  • ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (S)

Acknowledgment of the individuals, institutions, or research granting bodies who provided help during the research should be collated in a separate section at the end of the article before the references.

  • AI DISCLOSURE

Authors are required to disclose the use of AI tools and specify which parts of the manuscript were aided by AI.

  • CONFLICT OF INTERESTS

Authors are required to submit an author statement declaring whether there is a conflict of interest among the authors or not. If there is, it should be clearly stated what it is.

  • REFERENCES

As much as possible, at least 80% of the reference should be within the last five (5) years. The APA (alphabetical listing) of referencing should be used in the body of the manuscript while only essential references must be cited and listed. Examples of citing references include: Awodiji (2023) or (Awodiji, 2023) as appropriate; Lagasi & Akut (2025) or (Lagasi & Akut, 2025) as appropriate; Aluwong et al (2014) or (Aluwong et al, 2014) as appropriate. Examples of listing references are as follows

  • APPENDICES

If there is only one appendix in the article, it should just read “Appendix”. However, if there are more than one appendix in the text, they should be identified as “Appendix A”, “Appendix B”, etc. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering, such as Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc., and Eq. (B.1), Eq. (B.2), etc., in a subsequent appendix, and so on. Similarly, for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.

Policy on Plagiarism and AI

IJETD does not tolerate plagiarism of any kind. Authors are to ensure that the similarity of their manuscript is less than 20% with not more than 5% from one source.

We believe that AI tools can be used to assist with research, writing, and editing, but they cannot replace the core intellectual work of the author. Authors must therefore verify the accuracy of AI-generated content, draw their own conclusions, and avoid using AI to generate text that mirrors existing research without proper citation.

AI can be used ethically for checking grammar, suggesting alternative phrasing, or summarizing text, while ensuring human oversight and verification. However, unethical use of AI such as generating large chunks of text, paraphrasing existing research without proper citation, or creating images without permission are not allowed.

Lastly, this journal does not recognize AI as an author, because authorship requires human intellectual contribution, accountability, and responsibility. All manuscript will be subjected to AI detection Checks and are expected to be 0%.

Submission of Manuscript

Submission of a manuscript is on the condition that it is an original work of the author(s) and it has neither been published previously nor currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors should submit the electronic copy of their manuscript directly to the journal through the journal's website using the online submission system or via email. Hard copy submissions to the editorial office WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. After the manuscript has been submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding author stating that the manuscript has been successfully submitted. If the confirmation message is not received, the manuscript has not been successfully submitted to the journal; hence, no paper processing can be initiated.
