Abstract

This study examined the effect of entrepreneurial orientation on SMEs performance in South-West, Nigeria. The study adopted the survey research
design of which questionnaires were administered to a sample of (399) SMEs owner/manager in SouthWest. The responses were analyzed using the smart PLS-SEM. It was found that pro-activeness andautonomy has a positive and significant effect on SMEs performance in North Central, Nigeria. It was recommended that SME owners and managers should adopt a forward-thinking and opportunitydriven mindset in their strategic and operational decision-making processes. This will enable them to anticipate market trends, respond swiftly to changes in customer preferences, and stay ahead of competitors. Lastly, SME operators should reduce excessive centralization by delegating authority and empowering staff to explore creative solutions and act on emerging opportunities.
