  • AFRICAN JOURNAL OF GEOGRAPHICAL SCIENCE

    Recent waves of sex crimes in Nigeria have drawn long overdue public attention to them and ignited debate on the causes, spread and solutions. Individual states have taken the initiatives to strengthen or enact new laws against sex crimes, including chemical castration (Kaduna State) and the death penalty (Zamfara State) as punishments for convicted rapists and child sex offenders, respectively.

    Jos Journal of Social Sciences (JJSS) is an annual blind peer review Journal published by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria; fashioned to disseminate relevant, theoretical, empirical and analytical research findings and information in the fields of Economics, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, entrepreneurship and related disciplines.  Papers published in this Journal also aimed at fostering the understanding of the nature of national and transnational corporations, economics, politics, governance, with regard to their contributions to development through creating the enabling environment for migration, foreign investment as they affect demographic and gender related issues particularly in the areas of  poverty, human rights, attitudes towards crime, democratization, women in development, industrial relations, environmental issues, peace and security. The Journal is aimed at establishing a symbiosis among scholars, state actors and society by providing purpose-driven research as a template for formulation of problem-solving policies in response to the myriad national and international integration and development challenges. The Journal accepts original and well-researched papers in all fields of Economics, Criminology, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Research and development, Corporate Policy and Strategy, and related disciplines.

    Religion and Philosophy. Results of research are presented as fresh theories,
    hypotheses, and analyses of new ideas or discoveries. Extensions of existing theories
    and reviews of books of this nature are also covered within the standard range of this

    This journal is set to advance scholarship in all areas of political science and related disciplines. Properly researched articles, that are not presented elsewhere are to be accepted for publication in the journal. Topical issues that are of national and global interest from the political science perspectives are part of the set aims of the journal.

    The scope of the journal is universal, accepting contributions from all parts of the world, and the journal is published quarterly. In our bid to be on top of emerging developments and actively contributing to knowledge we call for papers without restricting the call to Political Science discipline alone.

    All the articles submitted are subjected to double reviews external and internal reviewers are engaged using standard guidelines in assessing the papers.

  • JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

    The Journal of Environmental Sciences (JOES) is devoted to the publication of papers, which advance knowledge on the theoretical and practical aspects of the natural and built environment.  The aims of the journal are:

    1. to provide an avenue for the dissemination of academic research findings dealing with environmental problems, planning and development;
    2. to provide opportunity for increasing and making available relevant data and information on natural and built environmental conditions /problems and advancing effective management solutions to them with special reference to Nigeria; and
    3. to provide a forum for meaningful discussions and debates between academics and field practitioners in the natural and built environment.

    The Journal will therefore accept for publication results of original research in all aspects of both the natural and built environment. It will also accept for publication book reviews, comments and letters, well-written research and practice notes, and short communications on any aspects of the environment.
